The Portuguese have a close connection to the Atlantic Ocean, rivers, and underground springs. Mystical tales about water often revolve around unrequited love and luminous phenomena.
Fishermen once spoke of lights beneath the water’s surface—the feeling of surrendering oneself completely to the depths.
Many of these mythical creatures are considered guardians of underground treasures.
Depending on the viewer’s perspective, it appears to be looking in three different directions.
